In September of 2009 James went to the Republic of Georgia, which is on the southwest border of Russia.

Tbilisi is the capital city, and the team visited many sites there, including the business center of the city.
Part of James' work was to share with children in orphanages in both Tbilisi and surrounding area, and in the region of Gori. The city of Gori is in the extreme cold region of Georgia and the orphanages in that area were those in the greatest need.

It was very helpful to have young adults on these trips. James' nephew, Andy Duncan, served as one of the guitarists and music leader in all the places the team ministered. There were several godly young leaders on this trip. In the first picture below you will see the two translators with Jessica, a member of our US team, in the center.

In every location visited by the team Bibles were placed in the hands of the people. Each child in the orphanages received an age-appropriate Bible. During the last days in Georgia the team went to the city center to give out Bibles. Hundreds and hundreds of Bibles were distributed within minutes. People continued to come even after the team had given out the last of the Bibles. Many who received Bibles sat down in nearby parks and opened the front cover and began to read. They were still reading long after the team had left the area.
